I took a train

I played around with the exposure time and the focus to capture speed, sunlight and movement. I hadn't meant to get the guard's foot entering the train but I love this spontaneous shot.
These birds were hard to photograph as their movements were unpredictable. I just had to hope that the composition would work. The third image is quite confused but I only noticed afterwards that the pigeon is about to peck the other one. It reminds me of the sort of picture that would be turned into a 1000 piece puzzle.
The outer pictures could be paintings.
The central one has so much light, I love it, especially as the water is still blue and not overexposed even thought the swans are.
When I used 'sensible' settings for this canal boat filled with flowers the pictures were quite dull. The issue was the heavy contrast between strong sun and shade, so I played around and I like the abstract nature of the images especially the central one.
I cycled into Windsor and by coincidence I arrived just as the Coldstream Guards marched past. I had to think quickly and choose lighting settings that could cope with bright sunlight and deep shade. I didn't get it quite right, but the I like the central picture as the glint on the drum provides a focal point.
I wandered over the bridge into Eton and found Nimia Coffee. I took a whole bunch of pictures through the window trying to get a story to go with the window display. I then asked the friendly staff if I could photograph them through the counter. Again the abstract reflections make an interesting effect.
